Fumie Yahiro, 100 years old, Denair, Calif.-born, resident of San Diego, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024. Fumie was interned at the Amache Relocation Camp during WWII. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1945.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Andrew Yahiro; brothers, Buddy Iwata and Ken Iwata; and sisters, Charlotte Yamaguchi and Mitsue Takahashi. She is survived by her son, Robert Yahiro, and his wife, Alice; daughter, Ginger Tuholski, and her husband, Marty; son, Martin Yahiro, and his wife, Janet; daughter, Coreen Fujinami, and her husband, Bruce; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service is planned.
