“All the (Healing) Parts,” a duo exhibition, will be presented from Sept. 14 to Oct. 19 at DMST Atelier, 4606 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles.

Opening reception will be held on Sept. 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. Closing party will be held Oct. 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. Galery hours: Friday and Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. and by appointment.

Experience stunning multi-media works by two Japanese-rooted Californian artists. “All the (Healing) Parts” will feature paintings and comic drawings by Shizuka Kusayanagi and photographic textile and mixed-media sculptures by Faith-Ann Kiwa Young, which will transform the gallery into a dynamic, cathartic healing sanctuary, providing a reparative offering for the community at large.

Each artist’s work explores the multi-dimensionality of one’s identity, emotional

landscape, and the interwoven process of healing. Throughout the lifespan of the exhibition, the space will feature an assortment of workshops, conversations, and activities, hosted by the artists, gallerists and other healing practitioners each Saturday to further activate the environment with soulful nourishment, education, and community.

This is the second exhibition for DMST Atelier in their new location on Washington Boulevard and the gallery is excited to share this unique, regenerative experience with the community. Visit www.dmstatelier.com for more details on programming and activations in September.

About the Artists

Shizuka Kusayanagi is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and educator who creates paintings, drawings, and writings to examine and extract the essence of a subject matter to evoke a universal language of “feelings.” She also provides creative experiences, Art for All Ages, as a modality to connect with and care for oneself and others. www.shizukakusayanagi.com

Faith-Ann Kiwa Young is a half-Japanese, Los Angeles-based artist, photographer, and founder of the arts and culture festival Kibō Nobori (www.kibonobori.com). She creates colorful, dream-like abstract works and liminal textile installations that directly contrast with today’s frenetic outer world and offer a space for meditation, connection, and reflection. www.faithannyoung.com
