Norihiko Takatani, the longtime proprietor of Anzen Hardware, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024. He was 86 years old. Nori-san was born on June 27, 1938, and immigrated to the United States in 1954. His almost 70-year career at Anzen Hardware firmly established him as a fixture of the Little Tokyo landscape.
Nori-san is survived by his wife, Darlene Eiko; his five children, Christine (Rich), Rick (Candice), Lori (Trent), Dina (Kirk), and Ryan (Cindy); as well as nine grandchildren. A public viewing will be held at Fukui Mortuary on Sunday, December 15, from 1-4 p.m. Private services will be held at a later date.
