
The Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Southern California and Japanese Chamber of Commerce Foundation will present their annual Oshogatsu celebration in Little Tokyo on Wednesday, Jan. 1, at two locations:
10:50 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. in Weller Court, 123 Astronaut Ellison S. Onizuka St.
12:30 to 4:10 p.m. in Japanese Village Plaza, 335 E. Second St.
The Year of the Snake will be welcomed with traditional Japanese food, entertainment, chil-dren’s cultural activities, a sake fest, a kimono fashion show, and more.
The event is presented with the support of the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles, Nisei Week and other community organizations.

10:50 a.m.: Kick-off with taiko performance by Taiko Center of L.A.
11 a.m.: Opening ceremony with greetings, sake barrel breaking and LAPD helicopter flyover
11:15 a.m.: Taiko performance by Taiko Center of L.A.
11:25 a.m.: Shishimai (lion dance)
11:35 a.m.: Mochi-maki
11:40 a.m.: Calligraphy demonstration by Beikoku Shodo Kenkyukai
12 p.m.: Demonstration by Toshikan Aikido
