Sights and sounds of the Hawaiian Islands filled L.A. Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in Little Tokyo on Feb. 22, as hundreds attended the annual Nisei Week Foundation Luau.

The 2024 Nisei Week Court served as emcees for the event, which featured a performance by Halau Hula a Kawika Laua ‘O Leinani and dinner provided by King’s Hawaiian Bakery & Restaurant.

A bevy of prizes was up for grabs during the opportunity drawing, including everything from Trader Joe’s shopping bags to small appliances and $500 cash. A collection of specialized items was available via silent auction.

A portion of the proceeds will go to support recovery efforts of the recent fires in Southern California.
