
1944 – 2025
Darlene Eiko Takatani passed away on February 21, 2025. She was 80 years old. Darlene was born in the Manzanar internment camp on September 26, 1944, and was part of a Little Tokyo band in the 1960s. There she met her husband Norihiko, who recently predeceased her. She was an avid bowler for 20+ years, enjoyed playing blackjack in Las Vegas, traveling to Hawaii, and spending time with family and friends. Darlene was quiet in nature, but a pillar of strength for her family. Her dedication to her family, selflessness and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Darlene is survived by her five children: Christine (Rich), Rick (Candice), Lori (Trent), Dina (Kirk), and Ryan (Cindy); as well as nine grandchildren: Brandon, Garrett, Darrin, Brett, Kyle, Kacey, Kory, Keira and Kalea.
Funeral services will be held at Evergreen Baptist Church, Los Angeles, March 22, 2025, at 12 p.m. Aloha attire/casual wear is encouraged.
