Yoshiko Miwa was born in Guadalupe, California on February 28, 1914. She passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025, only 15 days short of 111 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry; and her second son, Gerald; and a great-grandson, Derek Tao. She is survived by two sons, Masao (Mary) and Alan (Christine). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Charles (Elaine), Candace, Craig (Holly), Ian, Emily (Monty) Martin, Traci (Gavin) Iwanaka, Jodi (Bob) Miyamoto, Kari (Ryan) Ito, Canyon (Abby), Keanu; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Yoshiko lost her mother to the Spanish flu in 1918 when she was 4 years old. She graduated from UC Berkeley in 1939 with a major in business administration. She was sent to the World War II relocation camp at Poston, Ariz. She with relatives started a nursery business after the war after which she became a licensed vocational nurse at age 50.  She lived a full and rewarding life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A funeral was held for Yoshiko on March 14, 2025, at the Gardena Buddhist Church.
