Evelyn “Boo” Ryozaki was born in Yokohama, Japan. She moved to Los Angeles, California, with her parents and older brother at the age of two. Evelyn was predeceased by her father, Tadashi Monkawa; and stepfather, James Nojima. She is survived by her mother, Hiroko Nojima (age 101); husband, Kenny; son, Sean; brother, David Monkawa; cousins, Suzanne Toji, Jamie Hamano, and Ronnie Totsubo; also survived by sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A small burial service was held on May 2, with close relatives and friends at Inglewood Cemetery.
There will be a “Celebration of Life” party on Sunday, June 8, 12 p.m. at the Venice Japanese Community Center (VJCC), where food and refreshments will be provided. The family encourages all family and friends to attend. VJCC is located at 12448 Braddock Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90066.
