Celebrate, socialize and dance on Saturday, 12 – 9 p.m. and Sunday, 11 am – 8 p.m. Highlighted by live music and dance featuring vocalist Brian Yamamoto and Elemental Funk is set for 7 to 9 p.m.
Yamamoto encourages everyone to come out and enjoy the events at the Venice Japanese Community Center Summer Natsu Matsuri Festival.
“This is one of my favorite summer festivals and it has something for everyone,” he said.
Proceeds go to the VJCC operating fund. Discover Japanese culture and enjoy festival food favorites, games, martial arts, and taiko. Japanese cultural exhibits and expo demonstrations set for both days include Sumie, ikebana, shodo/shigin, bonsai and origami.
Ondo dancing will occur on Sat. and Sun. at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Raffle prizes throughout the day with top prizes drawn after ondo on Sunday at 7 p.m.
