West Los Angeles Buddhist Temple, 2003 Corinth Ave. in Sawtelle Japantown, will present its 75th annual Obon Festival on the weekend of July 26-27.
Hours: Saturday, 4 to 10 p.m.; Sunday, 3 to 9 p.m.
Scheduled for both days: ABAsonics (Nishi Hongwanji’s oldies band) at 4:30 p.m.; West L.A. Taiko at 5:30 p.m.; Dharma service at 6 p.m.; Obon dancing at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to dance. Yukata or happi coats are optional.
The festival will include food booths (contactless payments) and games for kids. Parking restrictions in the neighborhood will be relaxed.
