
A private graveside service for the late Yukiko Yamamoto, 84-year-old, Japan-born, resident of Hacienda Heights, who passed away on June 13, 2025, was held on Saturday, June 28 at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
During World War II, Yukiko was evacuated to another town, which ultimately saved her life when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.
Predeceased by her husband, Kikujiro Yamamoto; she is survived by her children, Michelle (Stephen Koch) Fincher, Lisa Yamamoto and Clifton (Heather Groth) Yamamoto; grandchildren, Kikumi (David) Reyes, Kylie and Kyle Yamamoto, and Wyatt and Elise Groth; great-grandchildren, Valentina and Brayden Reyes; brothers, Kenzou (Reiko) and Toru (Hisako) Terai; she is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
