Young performers at last year’s Akimatsuri.

The 2025 Akimatsuri Fall Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, from 12 to 6 p.m. in front of the East San Gabriel Valley Japanese Community Center, 1203 W. Puente Avve., West Covina.

Co-presented by the City of West Covina. Free and open to the public.

Entertainment will be emceed by ESGVJCC Queen Mia Miyoko Takatsuka. The schedule is as follows:

1:30 p.m.: Special presentation by City of West Covina

2 p.m.: Nihon Buyo (Japanese dance group)

2:30 p.m.: ESGVJCC Ballroom Dance

3 p.m.: Covina Kendo Dojo

3:30 p.m.: Kishin Daiko

4 p.m: Bushido Tanren Kenkyu-kai (martial arts)

4:30 p.m.: Ogino Academy (children singing and dancing)

5 p.m.: Eibukan Goju Ryu Karate-Do

5:30 p.m.: Touzan Taiko from Cal Poly Pomona

Food vendors: Okamoto Kitchen (food truck), Gochu Gang (food truck), NoKaO’i Foods, ESGVJCC Chili Rice and Wonton, ESGVJCC Leisure Club, ESGVJCC Gakuen, ESGVJCC Beer Garden, ESGVJCC Water and Soda, Kona Ice (food truck)

For ESGVJCC food booths and kids’ activities, purchase tickets at the ESGVJCC information booth for $1 each.

West Puente Avenue will be closed from North Hartley Street to the west driveway (by North Walnuthaven Drive) for the festival. The ESGVJCC parking lot will not be open for public parking, but street parking is available. Carpooling, ridesharing and public transportation are encouraged.
