Shohei Ohtani, his dog Dekopin, and Dodgers teammates are depicted in a new mural in Redondo Beach that also features the late Laker legend Kobe Bryant. The mural is on the side of future Eat Fantastic location at 701 N. Pacific Coast Highway in King Harbor Plaza, near the King Harbor sign.

To celebrate the Dodgers’ 2024 World Series championship, artist Gustavo Zermeño Jr. combined Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and rapper Ice Cube with an image of Bryant celebrating a three-pointer against the Denver Nuggets at Staples Center in 2008, but with a Dodgers jersey replacing his Lakers jersey. It was completed in time for Bryant’s birthday, Aug. 23. The former Carls Jr. building will reopen as Eat Fantastic later this year.

Ohtani has been honored with a number of murals around Southern California, including Little Tokyo, but in this one he is joined by his dog, known in English as Decoy, who is holding a Dodger Dog toy in his mouth.
