Kandace Kuwahara, founder and executive director of Infinite Love Animal Rescue, accepted a Certificate of Recognition from Erick Ponce-Furlos, representing Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, to celebrate the sixth annual Furbaby Lovefest in Gardena on Oct. 5.
The annual fundraising event hosted by the nonprofit organization has continued to expand, this year offering a variety of products and services from 75 vendors, a Pet Food Pantry that collected 1,500 cans and bags of cat and dog food, free and low-cost animal services including vet clinics providing spay and neuter procedures, rabies and other vaccines, microchips, ear cleanings and nail trimmings.
“Under the Sea,” the event’s theme, drew a colorful mix of contestants to the popular Furbaby Costume Contest.
Muratsuchi’s commendation honored Kuwahara’s “dedicated care, compassion and commitment to the South Bay animal and pet community.”
