Hiroshi Ota, age 105, born in Holtville, Calif., peacefully passed away at his home on January 4, 2026. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Masako Ota; brothers, Akira and Kazumi Ota; sisters, Chiyeko Naito, Michiye Nakagawa, and Yuriko Suda. He is survived by his loving family: sons, Kazuo and Roy Ota; daughters, Rumiko Ota, Fujie (Ronald) Ohata, Emily (Howard) Okano, and Linda Ota; granddaughters, Lauren Ohata Chang, Jillian Okano, and Maria Aguilera; great-grandson, Oliver Chang; brother, Harry Ota; sisters, Harumi Sasaki and Natsuye Shimono; also many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 E. 1st Street, Los Angeles, on Saturday, January 24, at 3 p.m.
