Pasadena Buddhist Temple has commissioned Miki Yokoyama to create a mural that has been designed to help heal and raise hope in the community.

All those affected by last year’s fire are asked come and help paint in this mural. Yokoyama also lost her home and her artwork, so she is looking forward to completing this project together with others.

Starting Feb. 1, the mural will be “open” for painting on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Yokoyama will be on the grounds during the scheduled dates to help direct all the neighborhood artists.

To sign up and get weekly notification regarding the hours the painting of the mural will take place (times are subject to change), email PasadenaSangha@icloud.com.

Pasadena Buddhist Temple is located at 1993 Glen Ave. in Pasadena. There is a large parking lot; if the parking lot gate is closed, the temple grounds are also closed.

The temple extends appreciation to Keiro for providing financial assistance to purchase all the materials for this project.
