In February 1930, Truckie was born in the Imperial Valley, where she and her family lived until their relocation during World War II. After the war they went to Los Angeles, where she met and married Tony Hiraoka. Tony and Truckie shared many happy years together as a family with their three daughters. A year or so after Tony passed away in 2018, Truckie lived with her daughters until she passed away this past March.

Truckie is survived by her children, Janet (Steve), Janice (David), Juli (Grant); grandchildren, Peter (Shizuka), Mari (Neil), Tiffany (Eric), Jason (Kellyn); 3 great-grandchildren; her sister, Eiko; her brother, Yoshio; and many, many nephews, nieces and cousins.

In early April, Truckie was laid to rest with Tony at Rose Hills Memorial Park. We will miss her quiet presence as she went about doing the things she loved: gardening, solving jigsaw puzzles, fishing in Mammoth, and most of all, spending time with her family.
