
The Cherry Blossom Committee and the City of Monterey Park will present the 26th annual Cherry Blossom Festival on April 11 and 12 at Barnes Park, 350 S. McPherrin Ave.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m Sunday, rain or shine. Entry to the festival is free.
Planned and coordinated by community volunteers, the Cherry Blossom Festival strives to provide a cultural arts event that offers a forum for learning, entertainment, fun, and community support. Take the time to see, hear, and taste a bit of the Japanese and Japanese American culture. Highlights include:
Foods with Asian flair
Handmade crafts
Kids Zone
Tea ceremony
Taiko drumming
Traditional Japanese dancing
Martial arts
Japanese musical entertainment
Origami demonstration and lessons
Ikebana display and instruction
Mochi-making
