
A private funeral service for Tomiko Ito Ando, a 95-year-old, Venice, Calif.-born Kibei Nisei of Westminster, was held on Sunday, April 5, at the Orange County Buddhist Church in Anaheim. She passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026.
Tomiko lived a life defined by gratitude and kindness. She had a deep love for her family, friends, and community, as well as Japanese art, culture, nature, and the Ito family strawberries.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ted Tatsuo Ando; her son, Mark Ando; and her brothers, Kensaku, Tomio, and Yonejiro Ito. She is survived by her children, Hazel (Leroy) Ando-Heu, Diana (Russell) Ono, Linda Megumi Ando, and Walt (Sue) Ando; daughter-in-law, Dr. Linda Kouchi Ando; grandchildren, Tracie (Brian) Bacho, Megan Ono (Donovan Querubin), Kyle, Dylan, Darren, and Sarah Ando; and great-grandchildren, Keilani and Kaden Bacho. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Suzuka Ito and Tsuyako Ito; along with many nieces and nephews.
