(1938-2026)

Anna Kasama, age 90, formerly of Harbor City, passed away peacefully at Hollenbeck Palms in April. Anna was compassionate, attentive towards the needs of others, and always welcomed others with a smile. She also had an endless love of cats.

Anna was born in Los Angeles to Yasuko and Tatsuma Nose as the eldest of four children. The family relocated to Utah during the wartime years. She was educated both in the U.S. and Japan.

Anna was a passionate golfer and a photographer. She was always surrounded by family, friends, and animals. Anna is survived by her cousins, Carol, Clyde, Faith, Jennifer, Keiko, Larry, Louise, Susie; sisters-in-law, Hideko and Sachiko; as well as many nieces, nephews, and family members. A special thanks to her cousin, Clyde, and cousin-in-law, Kenji, for advising Anna through the medical care journey; cousins, Faith and Keiko, and nephew, David, for visiting Anna often and checking on her; and to the assisted living and skilled nursing teams at Hollenbeck Palms for their devotion to Anna.

Anna was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Masatake; her parents, Yasuko and Tatsuma Nose; brothers, Ben, Thomas, and Victor; and cousin, Joyce.

The family held a private service on April 29, 2026.

In lieu of flowers or koden, the family requests that donations be made to Hollenbeck Palms in Anna’s memory, so Hollenbeck can continue to care for others in our community.
