Ikuko Shimizu, age 87, of Los Angeles, California passed away on May 8, 2025, at Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles. She was born on January 9, 1939 in Tokyo, Japan to Mitsutoshi Kuroda and Kasumi Takeshima. Ikuko is survived by her children: daughter, Diane Shimizu, and son, Steve Shimizu; grandchildren, Chelsea Shimizu and Zachary Shimizu. Funeral service was held at L. A. Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiated by Rimban William Briones, and she rests at the Temple’s Nokotsudo.
