
Buddhist Temple of San Diego, 2929 Market St. in San Diego, will hold its Japanese Cultural Bazaar, featuring food, entertainment and cultural demonstrations, on Sunday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The schedule is as follows:
11 a.m.: BTSD Taiko on the Outside Stage
11:30 a.m.: “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” (Pokemon presentation) on Annex Stage
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Tea ceremony by Urasenke San Diego in Hondo area
12 p.m.: San Diego Yosakoi (dance performance) on Annex Stage
12:30 p.m. San Diego Taiko on Outside Stage
1 p.m.: Masazumi Koto Ensemble (performance and demo) in Hondo area
1:30 p.m.: Chura Sanshin and Eisa Group (Okinawan music) on Annex Stage
2 p.m.: Sumi-e demonstration by Wendy Nakamura in Hondo area; Edo Kotobuki Jishi (lion dance) on Annex Stage
2:30 p.m.: Intro to Shin Buddhism with Rev. Sterling Davenport in Hondo area; San Diego Kendo Bu demonstration on Annex Stage
3 p.m.: Naruwan Taiko on Outside Stage
3:30 p.m.: Demonstration by master sushi chef Jeff Roberto from Sushi on a Roll on Annex Stage
4 p.m.: Raffle drawing on Annex Stage
There will also be a bonsai display by Fred Miyahara, who will answer questions about the art form.
Free parking is available at ARC, located on the north side of Market Street in the 3000 block, to the right of the 76 gas station on Market and 30th Street.
