
Judy Suzanne Izumo, age 74, a lifelong resident of the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Judy remained deeply connected to her community throughout her life. She was a proud graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, and later earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Southern California. Judy dedicated many years to her career as a pharmacist at Huntington Memorial Hospital, where she was known for her professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to those she served.
Judy lived her life to the fullest, guided by courage, generosity, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, Hideo; her mother, Kimiye; and her brother, Henry. She is survived by her brother, Robert; her nieces, Ashlei, Ashlyn, and Kelsey; her nephew, Derek; and her beloved cat, Bobo, who brought her daily joy and companionship.
She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life, and her memory will continue to inspire kindness and resilience in those she leaves behind.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 26, 11 a.m. at Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, 815 E. First Street, Los Angeles.
