Buddhist Temple of San Diego, 2929 Market St. in San Diego, will present its Gathering of Joy/Bon Odori on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 4 to 9 p.m.
The event, which is part of the temple’s 100th anniverary celebration, will feature festival dancing, taiko, food and drinks. Bon Odori starts at 6:30 p.m.

Performances by BTSD Taiko, Naruwan Taiko, San Diego Taiko, Shokenji Taiko of Vista Buddhist Temple, and Matsumai Kai (shamisen). Special guest: Honolulu Fukushima Bon Dance Club.
Food vendors: House of Bao, Japanese Cheesecakes, Mochinatics, Onigiri House, Surfin’ Slaw, Sumosize, BTSD (taiyaki), Vegan Mirai, Vietnamese Grill.
