A new mural by Edwin Ushiro, completed in early July, can be seen on the ramp into the underground parking garage at Terasaki Budokan in Little Tokyo. It depicts Jackie Robinson (1919-1972) and Wat Misaka (1923-2019), who broke the color barrier in 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Knicks, respectively. Robinson was an All-Star for six consecutive seasons from 1949 to 1954. Misaka declined an offer to play with the Harlem Globetrotters and pursued a career in engineering.
