Akiko Yagi, 101, California-born resident of West Los Angeles, passed away peacefully at home on July 19, 2026. Predeceased by husband, Steve; and son-in-law, Glenn Shimizu; she is survived by her children, Ron (Linda) Yagi, Linda Shimizu and Annie (Bryan) Kakehashi; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was an avid Lakers fan, enjoyed traveling, going to Las Vegas and spending time with family. Aki was a devoted member of the WLA United Methodist Church, where she made many lifelong friends. Private family services will be held at a later date.
