“2026 Kumamoto Earthquake Charity Concert: Stand Together for Kumamoto” will be held on Sunday, Aug. 9, at Moose Lodge, 1020 Satori Ave., Torrance.
The event is hosted by Nanka Kumamoto Kenjinkai in cooperation with L.A. Kansai Club.
12 to 3:30 p.m.: Merchandise sales
4 p.m.: Part 1 — Flamenco show featuring Spanish flamenco artists Paco and Yolanda Arroyo, who will join Mikaela Kai to present a performance embodying a decade of support.
5:30 p.m.: Part 2 — Live performances by local artists. The lineup includes classical musician Naomi Ozawa, DJ Yui Yamamoto, folk singer Yoshikuni Okita, Asano Taiko, as well as Bon Odori performances by the Kawachi Ondo Group and the Kumamoto Kenjinkai Group.
Tickets: $35, which includes admission to both Part 1 and Part 2.

Nanka Kumamoto Kenjinkai said in a statement: “We extend our heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the recent Kumamoto earthquake.
“For the past 10 years, since the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake, we have been carrying out support activities while praying for the recovery of our hometown, Kumamoto.
“Through the flamenco-based support activities organized by Mikaela Kai Flamenco — a flamenco school led by Vice President Michiyo Ando of our prefectural association — our members have also participated and continued to provide support.
“We were deeply saddened when a magnitude 7 earthquake struck Kumamoto once again on July 28 Japan Time, immediately after sending the donations raised from the flamenco recital held this past June to Children’s Book Forest Kumamoto.
“Faced with this sudden tragedy in our hometown, where recovery efforts were underway, we resolved to rise up once more alongside our fellow members to convey our support from the United States.
“Accordingly, we will be holding a charity concert to support the disaster-stricken areas … We sincerely ask for your participation and warm support.”
