A private funeral service for Hajime Mukai, 91-year-old, Hiroshima, Japan-born Issei, who passed away on August 3, 2026 in Los Angeles, was held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at West L.A. Buddhist Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Tomiko Mukai; children, Shirley Megumi (John Fortunato), Richard Makoto (Julie), and Christine Hitomi Mukai; seven grandchildren; brother, Tsukasa Mukai; also survived by many nieces, nephews,
and other relatives in the U.S. and Japan.
