On Oct. 17, the Greater Los Angeles JACL hosted a Get Out the Vote table at the “No Kings” rally outside Torrance City Hall. It was a nonpartisan campaign to help people register to vote.

Then JACL members joined members of Faith United Methodist Church in the rally encompassing both sides of Torrance Boulevard in front of City Hall.

Until Election Day, Nov. 3, JACL is partnering with APIAVote and Power the Polls on a nonpartisan campaign to reach Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander voters nationwide. Registering to vote matters, but so does helping our neighbors, friends, and fellow community members cast their ballots.

Some of the ways JACL is getting involved nationally are joining fellow JACL members in phone banking, volunteering with the APIAVote multilingual voter hotline, hosting voter registration drives, and being a poll worker. JACL believes that getting involved is a civic duty.
