Tosh Kawahara, aka Tomi, died Feb. 10 at home in Pasadena at 88 years of age. Born in Pasadena, he was a lifelong resident except during WWII. Most of his career he was chief pharmacist at Beverly Hospital in Montebello. He was active at church and in the community.
He is survived by Mitsuko (aka Mitzi), his wife of more than 63 years; children, Avis and Paul (Elaine); grandsons, Ryan, Jason and Jesse; sisters, Susie Yamada and Florence Miyoko (Don) Fujimoto; sister-in-law, Helen; cousins and other relatives.
The memorial service will be on Saturday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church – Altadena, 2775 Lincoln Ave., Altadena, CA 91001.
In lieu of flowers and koden, the family requests donations to First Presbyterian Church – Altadena, Japanese American National Museum, Friends of the Pasadena Public Library, or American Friends Service Committee.
