Funeral services for the late Mrs. Kimi Oda, 86-year-old resident of Monterey Park, who passed away on Aug. 7, will be held on Friday, Aug. 21, 11 a.m. at Mission Valley Free Methodist Church, 1201 S. San Gabriel Blvd., San Gabriel, Calif.

Kimi was born in Los Angeles in 1923. After internment in Poston and moving to Chicago, she and her family eventually moved back to Los Angeles, where she became very active in her church.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Setsuo Oda; daughters, Donna (Doug) Uyematsu and Linda (Jon) Uyematsu; granddaughter, Lisa (Richard Saisho) Uyematsu; and great grandson, Mitchell Saisho. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Gene (Ethel) Oda of Fremont and Sadao Oda of Hawaii; sisters-in-law, Haru Oda and Rose Oda of San Francisco, Pat (Warren) Hayashi of Walnut Creek, Jane (Ted) Uemura of Concord, and Hatsuko Kino of Hawaii; and many loving nieces and nephews.
