A private funeral service was held on Nov. 13 for Fred Y. Kato, 84, born El Centro, Calif., who passed away on Nov. 2 at Green Hills Mortuary. He is survived by his wife, Masako; daughters, Nancy (Daniel) Paquin, Janice (Garry) Nakamura; and granddaughter, Kelli; sister-in-law, Ann (brother Arthur Kato, deceased) of Sunnyvale, Calif.; brother, Edward (Yoshi) Kato of Los Angeles; sisters, Chie (Seikichi) Furukawa of Japan, Fusako (Noboru) Takasaki of Parlier, Calif., nieces and nephews.
