Tammy Masako Mochizuki, age 74, passed away June 28, 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Hideo Mochizuki, whom she
married in 1988. From her previous marriage, she is survived by her
daughter, Midori Marie Griffin, her son, William Masaru De Breau, 4
grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In Japan, she is survived
by a brother, several nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces.
She was born December 15, 1935 as Masako Yamashita in Aga Kure City,
a small town outside Hiroshima in Japan. She witnessed the atomic
bombing but was shielded from any affects by the mountains
surrounding that city.
In 1960, she married William Thomas De Breau, came to the United
States in 1964 and became a naturalized US citizen in 1969.
Her past hobbies included koto playing, karaoke singing, classical
Japanese dancing, Hawaiian dancing, and social ballroom dancing.
She was cremated and buried at Green Hills Memorial Park. Memorial
service was held at the Konko Church of Gardena on Sunday, July 11,
2010 at 1 p.m.
