Lillian (Nobuko Okano) Nakayama, age 90, passed away under hospice
care at Vista Pacifica Convalescent Home in West Riverside
(Rubidoux), Calif. on Friday, July 23. Lillian was born at home in
West Riverside, Calif. on Dec. 12, 1919. Lillian was a life-long
resident of the community of Glen Avon in Riverside. She attended
Glen Avon Elementary School and graduated from Riverside Poly High
School. Lillian was interned during WWII at camp one in Poston, Ariz.
She was involved with the Glen Avon School PTA, Club Scout Pack 29,
and many years with the Riverside Flower Show.
Lillian is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roy Shigeki Nakayama;
her sons, Benjamin (Doreen), Roderick (Carol), Clifford (Sharon), and
Brian; her brother, Howard Chitoshi Okano; her four granddaughters,
Jennifer, Karina, Jacqueline, and Blaire; and her four grandsons,
Alexander, Kenneth, Kyle, and Rayce. Service was held at Arlington
Mortuary in Riverside on July 31.
