A public visitation for the late Robert Katsumi Mizumoto, a 90-year-old, Riverside, Calif.-born Nisei resident of Monterey Park, former Manzanar Relocation Center internee and proud member of the 442 RCT, who will be awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in honor of his service to his country during WWII, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family and niece and nephew will be held on Friday, June 17, 2011 at 7 to 8 p.m. at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden,” 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012. A Service of Committal will be held privately at Riverside National Cemetery at a later date.
Robert is survived by his wife, Florence; children, JoAnne (Jay) Bellante, Lea (Marc Ledergerber)Mizumoto, Peggy, Michael, Timothy and Claire (David Brown) Mizumoto; grandchildren, Christopher (Tina)Meredith, Trevor and Tracy Ledergerber, and Nicholas and Kathleen Brown; great-grandfather of Megan and John Meredith. Also survived by many other relatives.
