Cherrie Yachie Shimamoto

A funeral service for Cherrie Yachie Shimamoto, 62-year-old, Hiroshima, Japan-born Issei, who passed away on Dec. 6, 2011 in Hillsborough, Calif., was held on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at San Mateo Buddhist Temple and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at 4 p.m. at West Los Angeles Buddhist Temple, 2003 Corinth Ave., West Los Angeles, Calif.
She is survived by her lovely family of Hillsborough, Calif., husband, Ron Shimamoto, children, Marc and Michelle Shimamoto, and mother-in-law, Elisa Shimamoto; mother, Torako Akutagawa; siblings, Yoshinori (Junko), Shoji (Kazuko), Mitsunobu (Emi) and Masahiro (Ruth) Akutagawa; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives in U.S. and Japan.
