Kiyo Imazu Tanaka, 85-year-old Nisei and long-time resident of Los Angeles, died peacefully on Jan. 18, 2012 at a loving Board and Care in Laguna Hills, her home for the past 16 months. Born and raised in Imperial Valley followed by internment in Poston, Ariz., Kiyo was one of five children. Predeceased by brothers Kiyoshi Imazu and Toshio Hiramoto; husband James J. Tanaka and son Norman Tanaka. Survived by son Jim Tanaka, daughter Carolyn (Bobby) Kanesaki, grandsons Ryan Kanesaki and Kevin Kanesaki; brother Roy Kazuo (Miyo) Imazu; sister Terri Teruko (Ruben) De La Torre; sisters-in-law Machiko Tanaka and Aya Fukuchi, and many nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephew.
Service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. in the Manchester Chapel at Inglewood Park Cemetery and Mortuary, 3801 West Manchester Blvd., Inglewood 90305.
