SAN FRANCISCO — The San Francisco Japantown Foundation will hold a special New Year’s celebration event featuring osechi ryori, the traditional Japanese New Year’s cuisine and sake tasting provided by True Sake.

The event will take place on Thursday, Jan. 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at New People, 1746 Post St. in Japantown.

The foundation’s board members will be in attendance: Donald K. Tamaki, Hats Aizawa, Bob Hamaguchi, Richard Hashimoto, Mary Ishisaki, Keith Kamisugi, Diane Matsuda, Sandy Mori, Jon Osaki, Allen Okamoto, Jerry Ono and June-Ko Nakagawa.

Admission starts at $150. Sponsorships are available.
