SAN FRANCISCO — Japantown’s annual Oshogatsu Matsuri will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Nisei Community Hall (gymnasium) of the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California, 1840 Sutter St., San Francisco.

Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach will welcome the Year of the Dragon. Activities include arts and crafts for children, a children’s art contest, traditional mochitsuki (New Year’s rice-pounding), food, and cultural performances (including odori, kendo and taiko).

Bring a T-shirt and have it screen-printed with this year’s Oshogatsu logo.
