Diane Yoneko Shioji, 93-year-old Nisei, passed away peacefully on Aug. 31. Funeral service was held on Sept. 12 at Rose Hills. She is survived by her sons Dana (Harriet) and Richard.
In lieu of koden, the family requests that a donation be made in her memory to Keiro Nursing Home, 2221 Lincoln Park Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90031.

Saneo “Sonny” Yamashiro
Saneo “Sonny” Yamashiro (101.5), passed away on September 13, 2012 in Sacramento. He was born in Ookala, Hilo, HI on May 8, 1911. Sonny lived in Hawaii until 1949 and moved to Los Angeles with his family and was a gardener. He is survived by his two sons, Ed and his wife, Kuniko Yamashiro (Hawaii) and Bob and his wife, Jackie Yamashiro (Sacramento), and his daughter, Betty Lawson (Ohio); and by his five grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Hillside Chapel (Gate 17), Rose Hills, 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier by Pastor David Higa from Calvary Chapel Echo Park. Sonny will be interned in a niche next to his loving wife, Ruth Kiyo Yamashiro. For more information, call 916-806-6271.
