SAN FRANCISCO — The Japanese American Religious Federation will host its 10th annual Curry Cook-Off on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Christ United Presbyterian Church, 1700 Sutter St. (at Laguna) in Japantown.

Attendees will sample different curries, both general and vegetarian, and vote on their favorites. Prizes will be given for people’s choice ($100), runner-up, judges’ choice, and best vegetarian.

The emcee will be KTVU-TV reporter Jana Katsuyama. Celebrity judges will be San Francisco Supervisor Christina Olague and 2012 Cherry Blossom Queen Asaki Osato.

Suggested donation is $15 per person. Proceeds will be donated to the Shi-On Fund for capital improvements at the Japanese Cemetery in Colma. To RSVP, contact Rev. Rodney Yano at (415) 517-1214 or rodoknee@hotmail.com.
