SAN FRANCISCO — Friends of Fukushima presents “Noodles for Nippon,” a fundraiser for the Horikawa Aiseien Children’s Home in Fukushima, on Sunday, March 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California, 1840 Sutter St. in San Francisco Japantown.
All-you-can-eat udon will be sold for $10 in advance, $12 at the door. A la carte tempura is an additional $3. Kids 5 and under eat free with a paid adult.
The Horikawa Aiseien Children’s Home is for orphaned, abused and neglected children who need help now. Their homes were badly damaged in the March 11, 2011 earthquake, which has forced them to undergo complete reconstruction and to undertake a debt equal to $1.6 million.
“Please come to help them realize their new-found hope in the shape of their new homes, and to show them that the Bay Area still cares,” event organizers said.
