Harold Hiroshi “Hiro” Hamano, an 88-year-old Monterey Park resident born June 1, 1924, passed away April 1, peacefully at home surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Yasuyo, his children Kenneth, Jeffrey, Lori; and grandchildren Zoe, Anthony, and Ryan.
Hiro loved the Dodgers and the Lakers and was active in his religion. He grew up in Torrance, and after his service in the Army, lived in Chicago, earning an engineering degree. He lived in Monterey Park for forty-five years, and operated his own coin laundry business with his wife.
A memorial service will be held on April 13, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at SGI-USA Community Center, 747 Del Valle Ave., La Puente, CA.
