Private funeral service for the late Helen Fumiko Yamashita, 91-year-old, Garden Grove-born Nisei, who was a long-time resident of Los Angeles, and who passed away on March 18, 2013, was held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Fukui Mortuary “Chapel in the Garden,” with Rev. Kazuaki Nakata of Los Angeles Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.
She is survived by her loving family: daughter, Cheryl Yamashita; son, Mark (Leslie) Yamashita; grandson, Andrew Yamashita; sister-in-law, Mitzie Okazaki; brothers-in-law, Jim (Marian), George (Carol) Yamashita, and Tom Ezaki of San Jose; sisters-in-law, Mary Kurushima, Lily (Ted) Yamaguchi and Mary Yamashita of Overton, Nevada; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
