Yoriko Morioka-Sakimoto of Long Beach, Calif., passed away at the age of 93 in Manhattan Beach, Calif. on March 31, 2013. Daughter of Genjiro Sugimoto and Namiyo Takeuchi. She proudly served for more than 20 years as a school office manager most notably at Meyler Street Elementary School in Torrance, Calif. and Dolores Street Elementary School in Carson, Calif. Beloved mother of five (5), she was predeceased by son, Gary Morioka and daughter, Judy Morioka-Smith. She is survived by her daughters–Ann Tamura, Joyce Walsh-Stone, and Susan Kawasaki, six (6) grandchildren–Glenn Tamura, Gregg Tamura, Eric Walsh, Heather Walsh, Chris Smith, Carla Morioka, and two (2) great-grandchildren – Darren Tamura and David Tamura; she also had numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Grace First Presbyterian Church, 3955 N. Studebaker Rd., Long Beach, Calif. 90808 on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow.
