A private memorial gathering for Meriye Inouye, 99-year-old, Los Angeles-born Nisei, who passed away on April 2, 2013 in Torrance, was held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Green Hills Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by husband, Bob Saburo Inouye; and survived by daughters, Aileen (Yoji) Sumi and Karen (Gary) Dickinson; grandchildren, Michelle (Robert Schaefer) Sumi and Scott (Helen) Sumi; great-grandchildren, Laura and Kevin Schaefer, and Rachel and Caroline Sumi; sisters, Chizue Ouchi and Elsie Morales; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
