Funeral services for the late Ichiro Nakajima, 95-year-old, California-born resident of Los Angeles, who passed away on July 22, 2013, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, 10 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church 300 S. Central Ave., Los Angeles.
He co-owned Empire Printing Company with his brother, Toshio, for over 70 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary N. Nakajima; daughters, Frances Kiku Shibuya, Karen (Michael) Dote, Kay (Richard) Yang, and Janice Yuki (Jun) Date; grandchildren, Kioko (Douglas) Cox, Jon (Lauren) Shibuya, Gary and Lisa Dote, Lauren and Kyle (Emily) Yang, and Christopher (Peggy) and Caitlin Date; 5 great-grandchildren; he is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ichiro’s memory to his church, Centenary United Methodist Church, 300 S. Central Ave., L.A., CA 90013, or the Japanese American Optimist Club, 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012.
