Aiko Nishijima passed away peacefully on Sept. 17, 2013 at the age of 97. Born on Jan. 28, 1916 in Fukuoka, Japan, she was a long- time resident of Gardena, California. Aiko was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hiroshi. She is survived by her loving children, Judy Masaki, Ellen (Ernie) Terao, Arlene (Rick) Ikemoto, and Carol Nishijima; grandchildren, Evan Masaki and Megan Ikemoto; and sisters-in-law, Shigeko Morishita and Yoshiko Mishima. Memorial services were held on Sept. 28, 2013 at Green Hills Memorial Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
