A private funeral service for Mary Teruye Kusaba, 83-year-old, Guadalupe, Calif.-born Nisei, who passed away on Sept. 12, 2013 in Los Angeles, was held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at Kubota Nikkei Mortuary with Rimban William Briones from LA Hompa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple officiating.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Janice) Kusaba and Karen (Jon) Yasaki; grandchildren, Dana and Kyler Kusaba, and Erik and Jaime Yasaki; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
