This workshop is presented by The Institute for Healthy Aging at Keiro, the American Heart Association and Health Services Advisory Group. Michael J. Wong, M.D., will discuss heart disease and stroke, and go over strategies to prevent these diseases. Did you know:

• A heart attack strikes someone about every 36 seconds.

• Stroke is the number four cause of death and a leading cause of disability in the United States.

Find out about Life’s Simple 7 and take part in the hands-on, hands-only CPR training that will conclude the workshop.

Wong is a Los Angeles-based cardiologist specializing in the detection, prevention, and treatment of heart disease, heart attack and stroke. A graduate of Stanford University, he received his M.D. at George Washington University Medical School. He served as Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA from 1982-1986 and 1996-2007. Wong did his military service as a cardiologist at the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colo., where he pioneered the use of treadmill stress testing to measure heart efficiency.
